This partnership event marked the launch of a newLearning for Public Health West Midlands interactive website as part of a drive to increase the standard, range and availability of inter professional training and development to help improve the health of the West Midlands population. HUDU were one of the keynote speakers.
Entitled “Health and Planning: Putting Health in its Rightful Place” the event was organised by Public Health England (Midlands and East Region), the West Midlands Healthy Urban Development Group and Learning for Public Health West Midlands (LFPHWM) and took place on 27 Nov in Leicester.
Presentations were given on healthy urban development by HUDU and Professor Peter Goldblatt of the UCL Institute of Health Equity, on the work of the West Midlands Healthy Urban Development Group and on lessons from Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire; and there were workshops on reuniting health and planning locally, and on embedding health into the planning process.
